This concept watch band uses the biologically inspired motif of skin/matrix/skeleton and explores the concept of maximizing open area for breathability and minimal water retention while maintaining enough rigidity and softness for all day comfort. The unique lattice design means that it can stretch enough to fit over your hand (over 50% strain) while being stiff enough to securely hold your watch against the skin. It's also a great example of a part that leverages our FKM in mold coating and robotic part placement process.

-Soft silicone matrix for extensibility and softness (3D printed in mold)

-Superelastic nitinol coil core to maintain rigidity and stiffness (robotically placed mid-print) while preserving high stretchability.
